Our gallery was first established by the artist Vladimír Veselý, a teacher who was teaching at the Elementary Art School in Mělník. He maintained the gallery thanks to the help of the town, his students and the Town‘s gallery. As time passed this gallery became an important place for meetings and events.

After reconstruction and modification of the upper floors, the Prague Gate has become the second highest point in Mělník with public access. From the fifth floor you can view not only the town itself but all of its surrounding scenic landscapes. The tea- room, café and gallery are located on the first three floors.

We also coordinate various cultural events, concerts, lectures, exhibitions and authors´ readings.

On the walls of the Prague Gate local artists exhibit their talents in a variety of media: oil paintings, sketches, graphic arts etc…
If you are interested in having a rest, come in and relax in our tea- room. We offer a hookah with our special blends of aromatic tobaccos.
